This one is also a good drawing, but something is wrong... I don't really know what... 
It's the neck! Someting is wrong with the neck!, I think it's the proportions again. The neck is too thin and sticks in the right shoulder, seems a nit uncofortable too me 
An idea for the background: Perhaps you can draw a lot of names on the background. This fills the blank space and it fits the serie and the moment (because he is now writing down names). And it will look very cool

Yes. The proportions maybe wrong, but according to my sister that man is just plain ugly and he does look exactly like the picture. In which case Vanis'h's drawing is excellent. He can't help it that the charcter is just plain ugly. And I agree with biomancer, but I was the one who made the remark in the firtst place, so that is only logical.
